SG has THE BEST chicken rice and unbeaten Team Flash leads after Week 2 of the MPL SG Season 6 Regular Season

18 Sep 2023

- "Singapore's Nasi Ayam (chicken rice) is the best in the world", according to Malaysian MLBB creator, Pojie.

- Team Flash’s four-to-nil unbeaten streak puts them on top of the table with 11 points in Week 2, two points ahead of Season 5 champions, RSG SG and Bleed Esports on eight points apiece.

- Homebois SG sits fourth on seven points.

It was a spicy Week 2 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Singapore (MPL SG) Season 6 Regular Season. Team Flash continued their red-hot form by nabbing back-to-back wins to lead the standings on 11 points. They remain the only team left with a perfect win-loss match record this season, underlining their credentials as genuine title challenges this season. Season 5 champions, RSG SG, place a close second on nine points after dispatching title rivals Bleed Esports (2-0) – who sit in third place – and Homebois SG (2-1). Homebois SG sits fourth on seven points.

At the other end of the table, Alchemy SG continued to struggle in Week 2, losing to Bleed Esports and Team Flash in clean sweeps. However, fellow newcomers, Vanguard Esports, have seen an upturn in fortunes, upsetting MPL SG veterans, EVIL (2-1) and Stellark SG (2-0), over the weekend to secure their first and second wins of the campaign.

Malaysian Content Creator Stirs The Pot With Audacious Claims

There was plenty of spice beyond the competitive arena as well, with Malaysian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) creator, Pojie, on-site to make some audacious statements during his guest segments. Notably, this included the opinion that "Singapore's Nasi Ayam (chicken rice) is the best in the world" (Timestamp: 07:05:55). Pojie gave a caveat that he's known within the MLBB community for being a massive "lalang" (a species of grass) due to his opinions being swayed by wherever the wind blows.

Pojie was in Singapore to lend his support to Homebois SG, who made their debut in MPL SG this season after taking over Team SMG's slot. HomeBois is one of the most-loved teams in MPL MY, and currently ranks joint-second going into the final week of MPL MY's final week of Regular Season play in Season 12.

MPL SG host, Cheryl Yao, interviews Malaysian MLBB content creator, Pojie, duing the special guest segment.

Week 3: Will Team Flash Maintain Record Against Homebois SG?

Fans are in for some delectable match-ups in Week 3. League leaders, Team Flash, will kickstart the weekend's action on 23 September against a resurgent Vanguard Esports at 10am. Day 1 will also see a clash of MPL SG veterans, with EVIL set to take on Bleed Esports at 5:30pm.

Day 2 on 24 September will see Team Flash lock horns with Homebois SG at 12:30pm. Homebois SG will be looking to arrest their Week 2 dip in form, having narrowly lost both matches 1-2 against RSG SG and EVIL. In contrast, Team Flash will be looking to compound Homebois SG's misery so that they can maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Organised by MOONTON Games and Zenway Productions, MPL SG is Singapore's only standalone pro esports league. The Season 6 Regular Season will see eight of Singapore's best Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) teams compete across four weekends – from 9 to 30 September – for a shot at the SG$100,000 prize pool and the right to represent Singapore at the M5 World Championship in the Philippines.

The Regular Season will follow a single round-robin format, with the eight teams to compete in Best-of-Three (BO3) matches. All eight teams will then proceed to the Playoffs taking place from 20 to 22 October. The Playoffs will follow a double elimination tournament format, where the top four teams in the Regular Season point rankings will be seeded into the Upper Bracket, while the bottom four teams will be seeded into the Lower Bracket.

Pre-registration tickets will become available weekly here. Tickets are free and available on a first-come-first-served basis, with all attendees to stand a chance to win in-game items, such as epic skins.
